Privacy policy
This privacy policy gives you an overview of the processing of your data at BESTPRICE union. It applies to all websites, apps and other services and services offered by BESTPRICE Union.
We have refrained from cross-references as often as possible. This will give you all the information explained in a coherent way, no matter in which chapter you are currently moving. However, if you read this privacy statement from the beginning to the end, you may notice repeated text. We could not quite avoid a few cross-references. For example, we have summarized all country-specific data processing in a separate chapter and always refer to this chapter if country-specific data processing is available.
for what services and offers this privacy policy applies: The way we process your data from BESTPRICE union is similar for most of our offers. This privacy policy therefore applies to all services and services that we offer to our customers in Europe. Regardless of whether we do this via a website, an app, in shops, by phone at events, or through social networks or other channels. In order to increase the comprehensibility, we use the term "services" for this "normal case" in summary.
However, there are also services in which we process your data exceptionally differently or for special purposes. This can be the type of service or country-specific requirements. When we refer to these cases (i.e. "deviations from the normal case"), we call it "service-specific" or "country-specific".
What you will find in this privacy statement:

- What we do with this data and what it is needed for.
- What privacy rights and choices you have.
- What technologies and data we use to personalise and tune our services and content to provide you with a secure, simple, seamless and individual shopping experience.

BESTPRICE Union offers you a variety of services that you can use in different ways. Depending on whether you contact us online, by phone, in person or in any other way and which services you use, different data from different sources will be used. Many of the data we have processed will be shared with you if you use our services or contact us, for example, when you register and provide your name or email address or address. We also receive technical device and access data that is automatically collected by us when you interact with our services. For example, it may be information about which device you are using. We collect further data through our own data analyses (e.g. in the context of market research studies and through evaluation of customers). We may also receive data about you from third parties, such as credit bureaus and payment service providers.
When we speak of "your data" we mean personal data. This is all the information we could use to identify you immediately or by combining it with other information. Examples: your name, your phone number, your customer number, order numbers or your e-mail address. Any information with which we cannot identify you (including by combination with other information) shall be deemed to be non-personal data. Non-personally identifiable information is also referred to as anonymous data. When we combine your personal information with anonymous data, all data in this record is considered personal data. If we delete the personal data from an information or a record of your person, the remaining data in this record will no longer be considered as personal data. This procedure is called anonymization. As a general rule, if you are asked to provide us with certain personal information, you can of course refuse to do so. You decide what information you give us. However, we may not be able to provide you with the services you are looking for (or not optimally). For example, we cannot have parcels delivered without the delivery address being specified. If only certain information is required in connection with a service (mandatory information), we will inform you of this by means of a corresponding marking.
1.1 Profile Data

We receive additional payment data from external payment service providers and credit bureaus, with whom we work together to carry out payments and to check the creditworthiness. 1.5 Interest data
When you interact with our services, data is used to determine what content, topics, products, product types, brands, or styles you are interested in. For example, we can derive from purchasing data, wishlist content and your age (as far as this information is available to us) and comparisons with users with similar characteristics for which styles and product categories you are interested in. This way we can show you the most relevant products for you in your next search entry first.
In addition to the interests directly communicated by you, we may also derive your interests from other data we collect. For example, if you repeatedly visit a specific area of the BESTPRICE union shop, we can infer your interests from your Access data as part of the usage analysis (for example, we can deduce that you may be interested in sports, If you regularly visit the sportswear category or order products from this category).
We also receive information and statistics on demographics (such as age, gender, region), device and access data and the interests of our users for this purpose by our external advertising partners. We pay attention to the fact that our advertising partners vis-BESTPRICE Union only transmit anonymous data to BESTPRICE union, so that we cannot assign the data to any particular person, especially to any particular user. . This information can help us to better understand our users, for example in the context of customer structure analysis and user segmentation.

If you use social media services, contact forms, or other means to communicate with us or other users about products (such as product reviews) and other topics, we collect the contents of your messages.
If necessary, we will forward your communications to the body responsible for your request, such as partner companies or manufacturers. In the event of a possible transfer to another company (for example, if you send us feedback to the manufacturer of a product), you are of course able to inform us that your data is exclusively used by BESTPRICE Union be used. In this case, we will not forward your request to the competent authority or only without your personal details, provided that you are able to deal with it in this way.
As far as you provide us with messages for other users (e.g. product evaluations), these can be published by us within our services.
BESTPRICE union also uses social networking services such as Facebook, Instagram or Twitter to communicate with customers and users. We use these popular platforms to provide you with further contact and information opportunities in addition to our own communication channels. Please note, however, that we have no influence on the terms and conditions of use of the social networks and the services offered by you, and only limited influence on their data processing. We therefore ask you to carefully examine the personal data you give us about the social networks. We cannot influence the behaviour of the social network operators, other users and third parties who may collaborate with or use their services with the social network operators.
1.7 Social network data
In the services of BESTPRICE union, functions of social networks may be integrated. This can be Messenger services and so-called social plug-ins or social logins like "sign up with Facebook". If you enable or use them and are a member of your social network, we may receive data from the vendors to identify you. As a rule, we receive the following data from social networks:
- Your public profile information stored on the respective social network (e.g. name, profile picture)
- Information about the type of device you are using
- The account ID of your profile on the respective network (e.g. Facebook ID)
Furthermore, we do not receive data from the social network providers without your consent to identify or contact you.
In the context of advertising on social networks, we generally only receive general demographic and interest-related information about the efficiency of our advertisements, e.g. that a particular advertisement is from a man from Zurich aged between 20 and 30 Years and with interest in shopping and apparel was clicked. This information and assessments are provided by the respective provider of the social network.
For further information, please refer to the terms of use and privacy policy of the respective providers.
BESTPRICE Union currently uses the Messenger service from Facebook:
- Facebook Inc., 1601 S. California Ave, Palo Alto, CA 94304, USA ("Facebook"). The link to the Facebook privacy policy can be found here: Privacy Notice from Facebook.
1.8 Location Data
For certain purposes, we also collect data about the current location of your device when using our services. Two different technologies are used.
When you share your device's location services with an app, website, or other online service from BESTPRICE Union, BESTPRICE union processes the location data that your device has provided and provides us with location-related services Provide.
In addition, we also record location data that is derived from the IP address of your device (up to the city level). An anonymized IP address, abbreviated to three digits, will be used. This can therefore no longer be used to identify your Internet connection or device.
What are IP addresses?
Each device that is connected to the Internet must be assigned a multi-digit, unique number (for example, 193.99.144.85). This is called an IP address.
The first three digits of an IP address are typically associated with a specific region or Internet provider. Therefore, the approximate location of the Internet connection can be derived from the IP address.
This procedure (so-called geolocation) is used by us and many other online shops, for example, in fraud detection to detect suspected orders (for example, it may be suspicious in certain situations if for an order over your Customer account is the IP address of a country from which you have not yet placed orders).
1.9 Information on actions and surveys
If you take part in an action offered by BESTPRICE Union (e.g. sweepstakes) or survey (e.g. customer satisfaction surveys in the context of market research), we ask you for information about yourself.
For example, we usually ask you for your name and email address in a sweepstakes, so that we can inform you in case of a win and to ensure that each participant only participates in the contest once.
For some actions and surveys we can also ask you for further information. This may be the case, for example, if we perform an action with a partner and the partner needs information about you to be able to provide you with the prize. In these cases, however, we always inform you separately about the required data and their use by us.
1.10 Device and Access data
When using online and mobile services, it is inevitable that technical data will be created and processed in order to provide the functions and content offered and to display them on your device. We call this data collectively "Device and Access data". Device and access data are created everytime you use an online and mobile service. It does not matter who the provider is. For example, device and access data are used in the use of:
- Sites
- Apps
- E-mail newsletters (i.e. when your newsletter interaction is recorded)
- Site-based Services
Device and Access data includes the following categories:
- General device information, such as device type, operating system version, configuration settings (e.g. language settings, System permissions), Internet connection information (e.g. name of the mobile network, Connection speed) and the app used (e.g. name and version of the app).
- Identification data (IDS), such as session IDs, cookie IDs, unique device identification numbers (e.g. Google ad ID, Apple ad ID), third-party account IDs (if you use social plug-ins or social logins or PayPal payment) and other common Internet technologies to recognize your Web browser, your device, or a specific app installation.
- Access data that is automatically transmitted every time online access to Web servers and databases of apps and browsers (in the context of so-called HTTP requests). This is standardized information about the requested content (such as the name and file type of a called file) as well as other information about the server access (e.g. transmitted data quantity and error codes) to your device (e.g. device, Operating system, software versions, device identifiers, IP address, the previously visited page, and the time of access.
2. Why does BESTPRICE union use my data?
BESTPRICE union processes your data in compliance with all applicable data protection laws. Of course, we observe the principles of data privacy law for the processing of personal data. In principle, we process your data only for the purposes described in this privacy statement or in the collection of the data. These are primarily the purchase processing and the provision, personalization and further development as well as the security of our services. In addition, we use your data in the context of strict German and European data privacy law, but also for other purposes, such as product development, scientific research (especially in the areas of machine learning, artificial intelligence and deep Learning) and market research, for the optimization of business processes, the demand-oriented design of our services as well as for personalized advertising.
In this chapter we will also inform you on what legal basis (legal basis) we process data for the individual purposes. Depending on the legal basis on which we process your data, you may, in addition to your existing data privacy rights such as the right to information, be entitled to special data privacy rights. For example, in some cases you have the right to object to the processing of your data.
Legal bases:
The legal basis for the credit assessment described above is Article 6 (1) (b) DSGVO, as it is necessary for the implementation of necessary pre-contractual measures. In addition, this processing of your data is based on article 6 (1) (f) DSGVO, based on our and the legitimate interest of other users in the avoidance of defaults, the detection and prevention of fraud and the clarification of Crime.
3 Personalized Services
The development and delivery of personalized functionalities and services for you is our top priority. Regardless of location, time and equipment used, we offer you an individual shopping experience and an offer tailored to your individual interests. The processing of your data for the personalization of our services is therefore an integral part of BESTPRICE union.
3.1 What are personalized services?
With personalized services we can offer you better, more practical and safer services. We use the data stored by us to your person to close to your needs and interests. On this basis, we can offer you more relevant content that better meets your needs and interests. Of course, you still have access to all content. By personalizing, you can see the content that is more relevant to you, but earlier or content will be presented to you (e.g. in the form of individual product recommendations).
3.2 Why do I need a customer account?
Most of our personalized services require the creation of a customer account so that we can store the data we collect about you in a central location.
3.3 What data is stored in my customer account?
Data that we collect about you and your customer number (CustomerID) is stored in your customer account. The customer number is a randomly generated sequence of numbers that does not contain any personally identifiable information. Your data will be linked to your customer number in order to be able to assign it to your customer account. In addition, the customer number also acts as a pseudonym.
3.4 What data is used for personalization?
The selection of personalized content is based on all data stored in your customer account.
As far as device and access data are used which are not stored in your customer account, they are only pseudonymisiert for the respective personalization (e.g. in connection with your customer number, but not in connection with your name or other Directly identifying profile data) for the duration of the use.
not be used:
- Credit data
- Information on actions and surveys
- Applications
- Messages (e.g. from customer service)
3.5 Your choices
In your customer account, you can view most of the data we have stored in your customer account at any time. If necessary, you can also edit this data there and thus influence personalization, for example by communicating your preferences.
As far as personalization is based on device and access data, you can prevent this data from being collected by disabling tracking tools to capture this data. Please note, however, that you will receive less or no personalized content and service. Please note that the data used for the personalized services is also required for other purposes (including the provision of our services). The recording of the data used for this purpose is therefore not terminated by the deactivation. However, the advertisements presented to you will not be personalized.
4. Information about the website
We use your data for the provision of the BESTPRICE union websites. In addition to the device and access data that is incurred in any use of these services, the nature of the data processed and the processing purposes depend, in particular, on how you use the functions and services provided through our services. In addition, we use the data that comes with the use of our services to find out how our online offer is used. We use this information, among other things, in the context of shopping personalization, for the improvement of our services as well as for personalized advertising.
4.1 What data is collected?
We collect fundamentally all data that you give us directly via our services.
Device and Access data
Every time you access our servers and databases, device and access data are logged, which are recorded in so-called server logfiles. The IP address contained therein will be anonymized at short notice after the end of the respective access, as soon as the storage is no longer necessary to maintain the functionality of the respective website.
If available and activated on your device, we also record a device-specific identification number (e.g., a so-called "advertising ID" If you use an Android device or "ad-id" If you use an Apple device). This device ID is given by the manufacturer of your device's operating system and can be read and used by websites and apps to present you with content based on your usage habits. If you don't want to do this, you can turn it off at any time in your device's browser settings or system settings.
We set up a password-protected personal access for users who register for a customer account or other service. If you do not log out after logging in with your login data, you will remain logged in to most of our services automatically. Depending on the type of service, a cookie or similar technology is used. This feature allows you to use a portion of our services without having to log in again each time. For security reasons, however, you will be asked to enter your password again if, for example, your profile data is to be changed or you want to place an order.
Social plug-ins
Our services can include social plug-ins ("plug-ins") from various social networks. With the help of these plug-ins, you can share content or recommend products. The plug-ins are disabled by default and therefore do not send any data. You can activate the plug-ins by clicking on an appropriate button (e.g. "Activate social media"). The plug-ins can also be deactivated with one click. When the plug-ins are enabled, your Web browser connects directly to the social network's webservers. The content of the plug-in is then transmitted directly from the social network to your Web browser and integrated into our website. By incorporating the plug-ins, the social network receives the information that you have called the corresponding page of our Internet presence and can record your device and access data. If you are logged into the social network, this can also assign the visit to your account on the respective social network. If you interact with the plug-ins, such as the Facebook "like" button or leave a comment, the corresponding information is transmitted from your browser directly to the social network and stored there. The purpose and scope of the data collection and the further processing and use of the data by social networks as well as their respective rights and settings for the protection of your privacy can be consulted in the data protection information of the relevant networks or Web pages. You will find the links below. Even if you are not signed in to social networks, Web pages with active social plug-ins can send data to the networks. An active plug-in is used to set a cookie with an ID each time the Web page is called. Since your Web browser sends this cookie unasked for every connection with a server, the social network could in principle create a profile which Web pages of the user belonging to the ID has called. And it would also be possible to assign this identifier to a person again later, for example when you log on to the social network later.
Social plug-ins from Facebook
We use on some websites plug-ins of the social network facebook.com, which is operated by Facebook Inc., 1601 S. California Ave, Palo Alto, CA 94304, USA ("Facebook"). The link to the Facebook privacy policy can be found here: Facebook Privacy Notice.
Social logins
We may provide you with our services to register directly with your social network account. If you want to use this function, you will first be redirected to the offer of the respective social network. There you will be asked to log in with your user name and password. Of course we do not take any notice of your registration data. If you are already logged in, this step will be skipped. The respective social network will then inform you and ask you to confirm which data is transmitted to us (e.g. public profile, Friends list, e-mail address and current place of residence). With the transmitted data we create your customer account, for example, your friends list is of course not saved by us. A any permanent link between your customer account and your social network account does not take place. In addition, we receive social network data from the providers of the respective social networks.
Shopping personalization
Our services use the device and access data from the usage analysis for the shopping personalization. Depending on the type of service, common tracking technologies are used, using tracking pixels and identification cookies or comparable IDs (so-called tagging). In addition, our advertising partners may also collect your device and access data in order to provide us with information about your interests and demographic data (such as age, gender, region) during your use of our services. In this way, we can present you with advertising and/or special offers and services, the content of which fits your interests (for example, product recommendations, which are designed to have only seen sports shoes in recent days). Our aim is to make our offer as attractive as possible for you and to present you with advertisements that correspond to your interests. Of course you can continue to use all contents and functions. However, this onsite optimization allows us to first display content and features that are more relevant to you. Onsite optimization is done automatically by our systems, which recognize that users have increasingly called products and content of certain categories.
About website Cookies
Our websites use cookies. Accepting cookies is not a requirement for visiting our websites. However, we would point out that our websites may have limited functionality if you do not accept cookies. In your Web browser, you can specify that cookies are only accepted if you agree to them.
What are cookies? Cookies are small text files that are stored by your Web browser and which store certain settings and data for Exchange with our web server.
Basically, there are two different types of cookies, so-called session cookies, which are deleted as soon as you close your browser and temporary/permanent cookies that are stored for a longer period of time. This storage helps us to design our websites and services for you and makes it easier for you to use them, for example by saving certain entries from you so that you do not have to repeat them all the time.
The cookies used by our websites may originate from BESTPRICE union or from advertising partners. If you only want to accept the BESTPRICE union cookies, but not the cookies of our advertising partners, you can choose a corresponding setting in your browser (e.g. "Block third party Cookies"). Usually, the Help function in the menu bar of your Web browser shows you how to reject new cookies and turn off already received. We recommend that you unsubscribe from shared computers that are set to accept cookies and flash cookies when you have finished using our websites.
Three categories of cookies are used for our services:
- Necessary cookies: These cookies are necessary for the optimal navigation and operation of the website. For example, these cookies are used to translate the shopping cart function so that the goods are kept in your shopping cart while you continue shopping. The necessary cookies are also used to store certain entries and settings that you have made, so that you do not have to repeat them constantly and to reconcile content from BESTPRICE union to your individual interests. Without necessary cookies, the website can not be used or restricted.
- Statistics Cookies: These cookies collect device and access data to analyze the use of our websites, such as which areas of the website are used (so-called surfing behaviour), how fast content is loaded and whether errors occur. These cookies contain only anonymous or pseudonymous information and are used only to improve our website and to find out what our users are interested in, as well as to measure how effective our advertising is. Statistics cookies can be blocked without affecting the navigation and operation of the website.
- Marketing Cookies ("Tracking cookies"): These cookies contain identifiers and collect device and access data to tailor personalized advertising on BESTPRICE union websites to your individual interests. Our advertising partners, who operate online advertising networks, also collect device and access data on our websites. This way we can also display personalized advertisements on other websites and in apps from other providers that fit your interests (so-called retargeting). Marketing cookies can be blocked without affecting the navigation and operation of the website. If necessary, no shopping personalization can be done.
5. Newsletter
We offer you various newsletter services. For information about the topics covered by each newsletter, and other notes, please sign up for a newsletter service.
5.1 Newsletter Registration
We use the so-called double opt-in procedure or single opt-in procedure (depending on the country) for the dispatch of our newsletter (e.g. the BESTPRICE Union Shop newsletter), i.e. we will only send you a newsletter if you have previously Have expressly agreed that we should activate the newsletter service. If a double opt-in is required in your country, you must also have confirmed that your email address is yours. To this end, we will send you a notification email and ask you to confirm that you are the owner of the notified email address by clicking on a link contained in this email. We may waive this measure if you have already confirmed to us for any other purpose in this way that you are the owner of this email address.
5.2 Newsletter Unsubscribe
If you do not wish to receive any newsletters from us later, you can object to them at any time without incurring any other costs other than the delivery cost according to the basic rates. A message in text form (e.g. e-mail, fax, letter) to the BESTPRICE Union-Company responsible for the respective newsletter is sufficient. Of course you will also find an unsubscribe link in every newsletter.
5.3 What data is collected?
When you sign up for a newsletter, we automatically store your IP address and the time points of registration and confirmation. In this way, we can prove that you have actually logged in and, if necessary, recognize an abusive use of your e-mail address.
We collect device and access data that occurs when you interact with a newsletter. For this evaluation, the newsletters contain references to image files that are stored on our web server. When you open a newsletter, your e-mail program downloads these image files from our web server. We collect the resulting device and access data in pseudonomized form under a randomly generated identification number (Newsletter-ID), which we do not use for your identification without your consent. So we can understand if and when you have opened which issues of a news etter. The links contained in the newsletters also contain your newsletter ID so that we can track which content you are interested in. With the data obtained in this way, we create a user profile for your newsletter ID to personalize newsletter content according to your interests and usage habits and to be able to statistically analyze how our users use the newsletter service. We link this data to the data that we collect in the context of the usage analysis.
This shopping personalization is an integral part of the BESTPRICE Union Shop newsletter.
You may object to the newsletter analysis at any time by disabling the relevant newsletter service. Of course you will also find an unsubscribe link in every issue of our newsletter.
6. Vouchers
We use the information provided as part of an order for BESTPRICE union vouchers to check and process the order and to send and redeem the voucher. This also includes the logging and processing of the data related to the use of the voucher, in particular to prevent fraud.
For these purposes we also store the following data:
- Date of issuing
- Voucher value
- Coupon code
- Personalization data (if you specify)
- Name of voucher holder (for personal vouchers)
- Time of redemption
- Name of the redeeming and customer account ID of the account used for redemption.
7. What data privacy rights do I have?
Under the respective legal requirements you have the following legal data rights: Right to Information (article 15 DSGVO), right to deletion (article 17 DSGVO), right to rectification (article 16 DSGVO), right to limitation of processing ( Article 18 DSGVO), right to data transferability (article 20 DSGVO), right of appeal to a Data Protection supervisory Authority (article 77 DSGVO), right of withdrawal of consent (article 7 (3) DSGVO) and the right of opposition to certain Data processing measures (article 21 DSGVO).
8. When will my data be deleted?
We will store your personal data as long as it is necessary for the purposes stated in this privacy policy, in particular to comply with our contractual and legal obligations. We may also store your personal data for other purposes, if or as long as the law allows us to store it for certain purposes, including for the purpose of defending legal claims.
When you close your customer account, we will delete all data stored about you. If a complete deletion of your data is not possible or is not necessary for legal reasons, the relevant data will be blocked for further processing.
What does blocking mean? When data is locked, a limitation of access rights and other technical and organizational measures ensures that only a few employees can access the data in question. These employees may then use the locked data only for the previously defined purposes (e.g. in the case of a tax check for the submission to the Tax Office).
For example, a lock occurs in the following cases:
- Your order and payment data and possibly other data are usually subject to various statutory retention obligations, for example from the Commercial Code (HGB) and the Tax code (AO). The law obliges us to keep this data for tax audits and audits for up to ten years. Only then can we permanently delete the data in question.
- Even if your data is not subject to any legal obligation to hold it, we may refrain from immediate deletion in the cases permitted by law and instead make a blocking first. This applies in particular in cases where we may still need the data in question for further contract processing or legal proceedings or legal defense (e.g. in case of complaints). The decisive criterion for the duration of the blocking is then the statutory limitation periods. After the relevant limitation periods have expired, the data concerned will be permanently deleted.
The deletion may be waived in the cases permitted by law, as far as it is anonymous or pseudonymised data and the deletion makes the processing impossible for scientific research purposes or for statistical purposes or seriously would be impaired.
9. How does BESTPRICE union protect my data?
Your personal data will be transferred securely with us through encryption. This applies to your order and also to the customer login. We use the SSL (Secure Socket Layer) encoding system. Furthermore, we secure our websites and other systems by means of technical and organisational measures against loss, destruction, access, alteration or dissemination of your data by unauthorized persons.
10. Changes to this privacy policy and contact persons
As we develop our websites and apps and implement new technologies to improve our service for you, changes to these privacy notices may be required. We therefore recommend that you re-read this privacy policy from time to time.
Questions regarding data protection in the BESTPRICE Union group can be addressed to our data protection officer at any time. The easiest way to achieve this is to Info@bestpriceunion.com.
